Would your school like to be part of our legacy and join our mission to collectively help raise deaf awareness among the wider community. Why the need?
There are about 11 million people in the UK alone who are deaf or hard of hearing – that’s one in six of the population. Did you know that 9 in every 10 deaf children are born to hearing parents, but only 1 in 10 of those parents will learn sign language to be able to communicate fully with their son or daughter. (Sign Health)
We would love to visit your school to deliver an interactive ‘Deaf Awareness Assembly’.
In our assembly, your students will be privileged to meet one and/or both authors of this innovative book and learn basic deaf awareness tips, some conversational signs as well as Islamic Sign Language.
There are no costs entailed for the school, and the book itself is a much needed tool for the families, community, the schools’ curriculum, a guide for teachers to perhaps deliver extra-curricular workshops or sign language clubs for students.
Equally this unique resource will act as a supportive communication tool for staff working closely with children with autism, speech impedement and/or global development delay to help and encourage social interactions.
If you would like our expert team to visit your school and deliver ‘Deaf Awareness’ assemblies to interactively engage your students then please contact us with the subject heading ‘Assembly/Workshop’ on firstname.lastname@example.org
